General Information

  1. It is the captain's responsibility to know their team's standing in the tournament. ONLY captains can ask scorer about the team standing (to avoid crowd at score table).

  2. ONLY the team captain is allowed to speak on behalf of the team to the referee in dispute or argument situations during the game.

  3. In case of any dispute or disagreement, the game referee's decision is final.

  4. Up to three non-Kadwa Patel players are allowed to play per team.

  5. Maximum 12 teams will be allowed for the tournament.

  6. Any team can invite a guest to play in their team (as long as the guest is not registered under another team.

  7. The registration will be considered with the fees.

  8. It is an indoor/outdoor volleyball tournament so please wear your safety gear.

  9. Each player is required to fill and sign  a waiver form and sign it.

  10. Each team is required to provide two names for referee and line man when they are not playing.

  11. All teams must arrive before 9:00 am otherwise they will be disqualified for the 1st game.

  12. ABSOLUTLEY NO SPITTING OF PAN PARAG, TABACCO, ETC., AND THROWING EMPTY PACKS ON THE FLOOR OR ON THE PREMISES. PLEASE USE THE GARBAGE CANS. THE TEAM WILL BE DISQUALIFIED IF A PLAYER OR ANY PERSON ASSOCIATED WITH A TEAM IS FOUND VIOLATING THIS RULE.

 

Rules and Regulations

Each game in the tournament will be played in accordance to the rules outlined below. Team captains will be responsible for understanding and explaining the rules to all of their team members.

  1. Each game will be played to 25 points, up to 15 min max and points count continuously.

  2. The team that wins the coin toss may either elect to serve or select the court.

  3. The ball must be served from behind the line after receiving a signal from the referee.

  4. When serving, the player must toss the ball before hitting.

  5. When serving, if the ball touches the net and falls inbound, the serving team gets a point.

  6. During all games, if the ball falls on the line while servicing or during the play it will be considered as inbound.

  7. Placing and dips are allowed.

  8. Blocking will not be counted as a part of three hits.

  9. During a play, crossing the center line completely or touching a net with any part of the body will be considered as a foul.

  10. Only use of hands and forearms will be allowed, hitting with any other parts of body will be considered as a foul.

  11. Rotation is not mandatory. 

  12. In each game both teams will be allowed two time-outs of 30 seconds each which the teams can use to substitute players, discussion or regrouping on strategy or injury timeout.

  13. If the ball touches the ceiling by a team, that team will lose the point.

  14. The final round will be the best-of-three games (15 points or 10 min, ends the game).

  15. Players can spike only on the first hit. Setup is not allowed.
